S4PST is proud to co-sponsor members to participate in activities at the premier IEEE/ACM SC25 Conference in November 16-21 in St Louis, MO. The work and activities reported are partially funded by S4PST and in collaboration with other stakeholders to showcase the impact of the activities around the software portfolio.

As members of the Consortium of the Advacement of Scientific Software (CASS) we contributed to the curated list of 24 events including papers, posters, BoFs and tutorial participation co-sponsored by S4PST. The full list can be found in the CASS website here.

Highlights:

  • MIT’s Rabab Alominary received the IEEE TCHPC Early Career Award
  • MIT’s Students Evelyne Ringoot and Vicki Carrica SC25 awards for best student posters, while University of Tennessee student Tatiana Melnichenko was a best poster finalist.
  • The paper “Mojo: MLIR-based Performance-Portable HPC Science Kernels on GPUs for the Python Ecosystem” presented by DOE SULI student Tatiana Melnichenko and coauthored with ORNL researchers received the best paper distinction at the Twelfth Workshop on Accelerator Programming and Directives, WACCPD.
  • The High-performance Software Foundation, HPSF, won in the Best HPC Collaboration category in the 2025 HPCwire Readers’ and Editors’ Choice Awards given at SC25.
  • ORNL researcher William Godoy served as the SC25 Technical Committee as the Chair of the Reproducibility Challenge, part of the Student Cluster Competition. SC25 blog entry on the process can be found here
